The discovery

The Gospel of Thomas was discovered in 1945 to Nag Hammadi, in High Egypt, at feet of Gebel Et-Tarif ( the surrounding mountain)
Farmers found one jar sealed containing codices thirteen (books) packed in leather cases. They were far from imagining that this real library, written in Coptic tongue, was going to unchain the passions until our days.
A text in particular, among this all 1200 pages, seemed like of one bomb theological historico: the Gospel according to Thomas.
According to the incipit of the manuscript, it would be about Thomas, the apostle " Thomas, conscript Didyme "
It is a collection of logia. That is of words reported by Jesus, among hundred and fourteen, mostly preceded by the mention " Jesus said ". Three-quarters have their parallel line in the canonical texts.
