1968 THE FIRST MEETING: by a tape

A day, friend Christian, lends me some tapes on which are recorded the sermons of an American minister. And there, I am stunned. The minister names T.L. Osborn. He speaks in English but a Frenchman, a minister Bernard Clément of Paris, translates it sentence after sentence. At once, I understand that this "Osborn" is not common. He speaks enthusiastically.

It is then that, I hear a revolutionary sermon.

Osborn explains, by the reading of the biblical texts, that the disease comes from the devil and the cure comes from God. He is not fanatical. He says clearly that God gave the intelligence to the people so that they use it and he thanks highly the share of the doctors.

By listening to this recorded message, I think to numerous persons that I know. I thus make the decision to go to them to make them Osborn listen. They will be certainly happy to learn in which point Jesus loves them. When the tape is ended, I rush by the telephone and fix meetings to several persons of my knowledge.

From the following evening, I am in a family. Quietly based around the table of the dining room, we listen to T.L. Osborn by drinking some tea. And when this one asks who wants to receive Christ in his life, I see then every person of the family giving itself to Jesus. I am upset. Then the minister Osborn makes a prayer that the members of the family repeat all in choir. What an enjoyment! I think then of being really useful for God with my tape recorder. And almost every evening, the same stage repeats in several houses and, at the end of September, I know the preaching recorded by heart..

One evening, the tape is stuck in the device, then I dash: I preach word for word the message which I had heard so much and so often. At the end, I ask: " is there anybody who wants to regret to follow Jesus the Rescuer? If yes, put your hand on your heart while I shall pray for you! ". To my great surprise, each dims the head and places the hand on its heart, while repeating the prayer. I am émerveil I am amazed. Then I pray for the patients, and God makes miracles to confirm the preached Word! Everything is simple: Jesus is with me, and He touches people as He promised to make it.

Henceforth, I shall not use any more the tape of T.L. Osborn. I know that I can make the same thing as him, because God makes with me the same things as with him.
