SAMUEL. O.T.
He was the son of Elkanah and Hannah. His birth had been an answer to the prayer of Hannah 1 Sam 1. He spent his childhood at the Tabernacle of Silo in the company of Eli the priest 1 Sam 2/11; 3/1. His call 1 Sam 3. After the death of Eli, Samuel became a great prophet and a good judge in Israel. He restored order and imposed the cult officially 1 Sam 4/15-18. 7/3-17.
The medium of En-Dor who brings Samuel back from the dead 1 Sam 28/5-20.
There
are two Books of Samuel in the Bible.
1
Sam Ch 1-4 The Lord curses the family of Eli and calls Samuel as a Sovereign
sacrificator and judge. CH 4-6 the Arch of the Covenant in the hands
of the Philistines. CH 7-8 Be careful to the false Gods and to the evil
kings. Ch 9-15 coronation of Saul and his reign. Ch 16-31 David.
2
Sam Ch 1-4 fight between the partisans of David and those of Saul. Ch
5-10 David holds the power. Ch 11-21 The decline of the spirituality
of David. His sins. Ch 22-24 David seeks the reconciliation with God.
It
is a process, to get rid of the actions of the flesh.
To be sanctified is to come out of the world. It is to be dedicated to God and have acces to what God wants to do. We have our part to fulfill in the sanctification.: ''Surrender to God; resist the devil, and He will run away from you. Approach God, and He will approach you. Cleanse your hands, sinners ...'' Jm 4/7-8.
But it is God who is our sanctification. He sanctified us by the offering of the body of Jesus-Christ, a time for all Heb 10/10. Jesus-Christ has suffered in order to sanctify the people by his own blood Heb 13/12. See Saint.
It
is the supreme court of the Jews, the Senate. In the Sanhedrin the civil as
well as religious cases were treated. The Sanhedrin consisted of 71 members.
They were all sacrificators, scribes and elders.
SARA. O.T.
She was the first wife of Abraham. At a very old age, she gave birth to Isaac Gn 18/9-15. Gn 21-2.
See devil.
SAUL. O.T.
The
first king in Israel. The division of the country did not exist yet. He was
good in the beginning of his reign, but became evil, due to pride and disobedience
1 Sam 9-31.
SAUL
of TARSUS.
See
Paul.
SCHADRACH. O.T.
Il was one of the four young people who refused to be stained by eating the meals of the king Dan 1. See Daniel.
The scribes were those who copied the holy Scriptures. Jer 8.8. In the New Testament, they are often called the doctors of the law. Their function seems to have changed somehow. They were, at the time of Jesus-Christ, those who tried to implement what they understood of the law, in the daily life of the people. Matt 13/52. Mk 2/16-17. Mk 11/17-18. Lk 11/44-53. Lk 20/46-47.

Bible, Canon.
Jude. It is what we call the Bible. Jesus-Christ
and the writers of the New Testament considered the Old Testament as the Holy
Scriptures. Matt 22/29. Jn 5/39. 2 Tim 3/15. 2 Peter 1/20-21.
We consider the Old and the New Testament as the Holy Scriptures. There are
no other Scriptures. For example:Those who put the brochures of the prophet W. Branham on
an equal stand with the Bible commit a serious sin. The prophet never said such
a thing. He was often mistaken and he willingly acknowledged the fact.
He
was a prophet and not a doctor.
The
Holy Bible is the Holy Scriptures. To those who add or cut anything to the Scriptures
... Rev 22/18-19.
To
those who say that the Holy Bible is not the completed message of God, I simply
say: start living your life according to the Message of the Bible. We shall
then see if you still have time to believe and do the things which are not written
in there.
Jesus
used the Scriptures to teach Lk 24/32. Jude quotes Enoch Jude 14-15.
(Were all the Scriptures of Enoch considered holy by the first disciples? Or
should we look as holy only the prophecy quoted by Jude? In any case, we do
not find Bibles with the books of Enoch. They can only be found separately.
We find in a manuscript of the Bible, the Sinaiticus, the book of the Pastor
of Hermas. This writing cannot trace back more than 150 years after Jesus-Christ....
and there are things which are not scientifically true, and thus not inspired.
For instance 1 Enoch 82/37 which affirms that the sun and the moon have
the same size...
God
wanted the Law to be proclaimed in the hearing of all Israel Deut 31/10-13.
That this book always be on your lips Jos 1/8. Jesus says that the
Scriptures bear witness to Him Jn 5/39. Paul says that the Scriptures
are useful to teach and convince 2Tim 3/15-16.

There
is one letter of Paul to the Corinthians 1Cor 5/9.
To
the Ephesians, Eph 3/1 to 2. What Paul says between these two verses
has been lost.

We
know enough and have enough to live for God's glory by faithfully practicing
the Scriptures God intended us to have.
SEAL.
We
have been sealed by the Holy Spirit Eph 1/13. What we are and what we
have cannot be damaged by the enemy for we are sealed.
One
seals the wagons which have been loaded so that from departure to their arrival,
no one may touch what is in them. We have been sealed for the day of the Redemtion
Eph 4/30. We thus have a seal on us, the mark of the Holy Spirit.
Certain
prophecies of Daniel have been sealed until todays; Only those who have a Divine
intelligence can understand what they mean. Dan 12/9-10.
These
prophecies have been sealed, but they are more for the disciples of Jesus-Christ
Dan 12/4. See Disciples.
The
seven Thunders still hold a certain Mystery: the revelation of who is Jesus-Christ
to the people of Israel. For this people has been veiled by God in person. For
them, there are still seals on the Scriptures, a veil on their heart. Rev
10/3-7. 2 Cor 3/12-18. It is the mystery of Col 2/3, and of
1 Ti 3/16, i.e: Christ, God come in the flesh.
It
does not mean that the Jews cannot convert to Jesus-christ. This means that
when a Jewish converts to Jesus-Christ, it is a double miracle of the Grace
of God.
It
is a son of Noah. He is the father of the Semites Gn 5/29-31. 6/10. 7/13.

His
master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph Gn 39/7. Everyone who so much
as looks at a woman with evil desire for her has already committed adultery
with her Matt 5/28. Abstain from the sensual urges that wage war on the
soul 1 Pt 2/11. The lust of the eyes does not come from the father
1 Jn 2/16.
It
is what a disciple must be. A very vigilant person. It is what Adam and Eve
should have been in the Garden of Eden Gn 2/15.
God has etablished us as watchmen Ezek 3/17-21. The sentries who raised the voice of warning saved their own soul Ezek 33/7-9. A disciple is a vigil. See Watch.
It
is one of the speeches of Jesus-Christ Matt 5 to 7. Lk 6/20-49.
The second son of Adam. See Adam. Eve. Cain. Seed of the serpent. Gn 5/3.
To set part is to sanctify See sanctification.
