JONATHAN O.T.
He
was the son of the king Saul. He was intimate friend of David 1 Sam 13 to
23 and 31. David loved Jonathan. 1 Sam 18/3. See David.
The Jordan has several sources running down from the mount Hermon. It flows through the lake of Tiberiad and into the Dead Sea. There are about 60 miles from the lake to the sea, but the Jordan is 190 miles. Miraculous crossing of Joshua and all Israel Jos 3 and 4. The miraculous passages of Elijah and Elisha 2 Kg 2/8, 14. Naaman the Syrian is purified from leper 2 Kg 5. Jesus-Christ baptised by his cousin John Matt 3/13-17. Mk 1/9.
JOSAPHAT O.T.
A faithful king of Juda. 1 Kg 15/24. 22.
He was a member of the sanhedrin and a disciple of Jesus-Christ. He was rich and very faithful. He did not take part in the condemnation of his Master. It is in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathaea that the body of Jesus was laid down. Matt 27/57-60. Mk 15/43-46. Lk 23/50-53. Jn 19/38-42.
JOSEPH. N.T.
The
husband of Mary, mother of Jesus-Christ. He was a descendant of David Matt
1/1-16. Lk 3/23-38. (note that Cain is not mentioned in the genealogy of
Jesus, which proves that he is not the son of Adam. See Cain.)
Joseph was living in Nazareth. He was the fiance of Mary. It is a short time
before their marriage that the angel Gabriel announced to the small virgin that
she had been chosen to be the mother of the Savior, of the son of God. Lk
1/26-35. (Note that the father of Jesus-Christ is the Holy Spirit... ).
Joseph has also received this revelation Matt 1/20-25.
Therefore Joseph is not the father of Jesus-Christ. But the people ignored it and considered Joseph as the father of Jesus-Christ Lk 3/23. Even Mary, talking to Jesus-Christ child told him: ''your father...'' referring of Joseph. Lk 2/48. Jesus-Christ was obedient to Joseph like a son is obedient to his dad Lk 2/51. How Joseph saves the life of Jesus-Christ Matt 2/13-14. An angel tells Joseph to bring back Jesus-Christ to Israel. Matt 2/19-23.
JOSEPH.
O.T.
He
was the son of Jacob. See Jacob, Israel.
He was the first-born of Jacob and Rachel Gn 30/22-24. 37/3. It is Joseph
who had the birthright due to the mistake of Reuben, first son of the first
spouse of Jacob see Ruben. 1 Chron
5/1-2. He has another blessing of his father just before the death of the
latter Gn 49/22-26. Joseph was righteous, wholesome, clever and wise
according to the Lord Gn 41/39.
With
the wive of Potiphar, his example of faith and chastity Gn 39/7-12.
He is the type of Jesus-Christ in many points of his life. But what is most
wonderful is his attitude at the moment where he reveals who he is to his brothers
Gn 45/4-15. This is how Jesus-Christ will be revealed to His People
of Israel, without reprimanding them. Jesus reveals to them after taking His
non-Jewish bride, like Joseph revealed himself after taking a non-Jewish bride.
Jacob
particularly loved Joseph. The tunic of several colors Gn 37/3. Jealousy
of the brothers of Joseph, the plot and the acting Gn 37/5-36. Success
of Joseph in Egypt. He becomes the attendant of Potiphar Gn 39/1-4.
The wife of Potiphar presents a proof of the ''sin'' of Joseph Gn 39/7-20.
Joseph interprets the dreams of the cupbearer and of the bread-maker of Pharaoh
Gn 40. Why he got the favour of Pharaoh and became the leader of Egypt
Gn 41/14-45. He takes a non-Jewish bride like Jesus-Christ did. Birth
of Ephraim and Manasse Gen 41/51-52. The wife of Joseph was the daughter
of the priest of On. On was a Town of Egypt near Cairo. The temple of the God
R was there. This Town reappears in Jer 43/13 and Ezekiel 30/17.
Joseph finally meets again his brothers and his father who thought he was dead
Gn 45/46. Joseph dies in Egypt at the age of 110 years Gn 50/22.
JOSIAS. O.T.
Good
king of Juda who ruled from 641 to 610 BC 2 Kg 22 to 24. 2 Chron
34 and 35. It is during his reign that the book of the law was found again
in the House of God. 2 Kg 22/8-13.
JOSHUA. O.T.
He
was a prophet and he guided the people of God succeeding Moses. He was born
in Egypt Nb 14/26-31. He was with Caleb and the ten other spies whom
Moses had sent in Israel. Only Joshua and Caleb gave a report of their expedition
which was based on faith. Nb 13/8 and 16 to 17. 14/6. Joshua lived till
the age of 110 years Jos 24/29.
The
book of Joshua is certainly not written by Joshua. The Jewish religious leaders
say that it is Jeremiah who wrote it, using old documents. See Scriptures.
Chapters 1-12 Conquest of Canaan. Ch 13-24 spreading of the tribes of Israel on the territory and recommendation of Joshua for the future. I shall quote two texts which will always do good to you Joshua 1/3-9 and Joshua 24/15.
JOY.
Joy
is a state. This state is the one which is justified by Jesus-Christ. Without
the Lord Jesus-Christ, it is absolutely impossible to know a complete joy
Jn 15/11.
The
lowly rejoice in God Is 29/19. The celestial angel says to the sheperds:
''I announce you a good news which will be the subject of a great joy!''
Lk 2/10. This joy, no one can take it up Jn 16/22. When the Holy
Spirit comes to dwell (tabernacle) see Tabernacle,
in a human being, it automatically produces joy. Gal 5/22.
JUDA.
Fourth
son of Jacob and Lea. Gen 29/35. 37/26-27. 43/3, 8. 44/16. 49/8. Jacob
blessed Juda so that the Schilo, the one to whom the Sceptre belongs be in the
family of Judas. Gn 49/10. The one to whom the Sceptre belongs, is Jesus-Christ
our God.
The
tribe of Juda immediately took the lead upon arriving in Canaan. It had problems
with the tribe of Ephraim. Moses blessed the tribe of Juda which became the
kingdom of Juda after the reign of Solomon. See Israel.
There
is thus a kingdom of Juda.
It
is during the reign of Roboam that what Solomon possessed was divided into two
kingdoms. This was mainly the result of jealousy (see jealousy)
existing between the tribes of Juda and of Ephraim. The kingdom of Juda, in
the south was composed of the tribes of Juda and of the most part of the tribe
of Benjamin. Jerusalem was the capital of the kingdom of Juda. Globally, one
can say that the kingdom of Juda has been more faithful to God than the kingdom
of Israel. The kingdom of Juda had more problems caused by the attacks of the
country from the north and the east. But it is mainly because the power was
between the hands of the people of the family of David. This lasted till the
captivity in Babylon.
JUDAS. N.T.
Judas was the brother of James. He was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus-Christ. Lk 6/13-16. He is certainly the one called Thaddaeus Matt 10/2-4.
JUDAS ISCARIOT. N.T.
He
was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus-Christ. Matt 10/4. Mk 14/10. Jn
6/71. 12/4. Iscariot means ''the man of Keriot'' He was the only disciple
of Jesus not to be a Galilean. He was of the tribe of Juda. But in reality,
he was a demon.
This
man was a fallen spirit incarnate. He was of the seed of the serpent. See seed
of the serpent. Cain.
The fall. Adam.
Jn
6/70. We must understand that there is a difference between having a demon
and Being a demon. When a man comes on the earth, He is a spirit incarnate which
is either a good spirit, or a fallen spirit. Judas was an evil spirit. A child
of God, before being born again and filled with the Holy Spirit may be possessed
by an evil spirit. But the evil spirit is cast out and the person in question
will find herself free to be what she is. This is not the case with people like
Judas or Cain who are evil spirits. See Cain.
A person who is a demon can, moreover, be possessed by of other evil spirits. For instance, Judas who was a demon, needed the help of his father, the devil, to complete his work of treason. Jn 13/2. Lk 22/3. Jn 13/26-30. Like a child of God is helped by God His father, the sons of the serpent are helped by their father, the devil, to accomplish what they came on earth to fulfill Jn 8/44.
Those
who try to make believe that Judas just wanted to push Jesus to act through
betraying him, are liers or ignorants. The Bible clearly says that for money
he sold Jesus-Christ. Matt 26/14-16. And in order that you are sure that
what Judas did was predestined, God revealed the whole story long time beforehand
to Zechariah the prophet. Zach 11/12/13.
Judas
betrayed Jesus-Christ with a kiss Matt 26/47-50. Mk 14/43-45. Lk 22/47-48.
Jn 18/2-5. No one will be condemned for having betrayed, judged, stroken
or crucified Jesus-Christ, Lk 23/34.
But
Judas went and hanged himself Matt 27/5. (We should note that here,
his father did not help him. Satan helps his children only if it is convenient
to him...)
David had announced what Judas would do Acts 1/16. Without doubt, Peter was thinking of these two passages: Ps 41/10. Ps 55/13-15.
JUDE. N.T.
Jude is the brother of Jesus-Christ. This means: the son of Joseph and Mary. He is certainly the author of the letter which bears his name. His letter is destined to the disciples of Jesus-Christ who are gradually weakened due to the false-brothers who live in their midst like real pagans while claiming to be disciples of Jesus-Christ. There were people at that time and still today, who claimed not to be bound by any moral law. Jude seeks to encourage the veritable disciples of Jesus-Christ to walk straight with God. At the verse 6 of his letter, we learn about fallen angels. See angel. It is Jude who seems to indicate that the writings of Enoch, the seventh since Adam, should not be neglected. Jude 14-15. He quotes a prophecy of Enoch. See Scriptures. Canon. Apocryphal.
To
judge is not to condemn. It is to evaluate an act in relation to the law of
God. It is thus also to discern good and evil.
Moses
judging the people Ex 18/13. To judge according to justice Lev 19/15.
Ever since God has come in the flesh, we have no more right to judge lest we
remember that we shall be judged as we judge Matt 7/1-2. Lk 6/37.
If a person does not know Jesus-Christ, she will be judged by the law Rm
2/12. The disciples of Jesus-Christ will judge the world 1 Cor 6/2-3.
The
spirits who are actually in prison have been judged like the men concerning
the flesh, and thus sentenced. For it is given to man to die only one time ;
then comes the judgment, Heb 9/27. But they will be able to hear the
preaching of the Gospel in this terrible place 1 Peter 4/6. See Baptism.
At the white throne, if their name is in the book of Life, they will be saved
like through fire. Rev 20/11-15. 1 Cor 3/13-15. Among those people,
we also find the servants of God who will not have worked properly, Lk 12/47-48.
The
Book of Revelation reveals what will take place on that day. Rev 20/11-15.
And also Matt 25/31-46.
Jesus-Christ
will no more be the Lamb of God, He will be the judge. He will be sitting on
the Great white throne. All the dead will stand before him. Matt 24/31-46.
Several
Books will be open. These are books in which all the deeds of the people are
written. Another book will then be open. It is the book of Life.
Each
person will be judged in relation to what is written in the Books.
The
persons judged according to their works will not necessarily be condemned. All
those who never heard of the only true God will be judged according to the law
which is written in their heart. Rm 2/14-15.
Let
us not be more Catholic than the Pope! Let us not condemn those whom God judged!
To judge does not mean to condemn!
Some
Books of the Acts of some people will be free of any negative remarks. The reason
is that, in the underworld, they will have received the Gospel which had been
preached and their sins have been erased.
And
there will be a thing which they have not done themselves but which will be
put to their credit...
...If
you were baptised in the place of a deceased person, this will appear in the
book which concerns this person. You acted as a substitute in the waters of
baptism. This will be counted fo justice to this person, (If this person has
had faith in the Gospel which will be preached to her in the underworld
1 Pt 4/6... See Judges. Baptism.)
In
the Gospel of Matt 25/31-46, it is clear that people will be saved.
And yet, Matt 25 talks of the Great White Throne of Apoc 20/11-15.
Well,
no one having believed and faithfully walked with Jesus-Christ on the earth
of the living will come before the white throne.
He
who receives Jesus-Christ as Savior and Lord during his life on earth absolutely
does not need the last judgment. Jn 3/18. During his life, he passed
from the darkness to the Light and from death to life. He does not come to judgment
for his salvation.
Once
the Books are open and consulted, the book of Life should be open. Anyone having
his name written in the book of life will have eternal life. Matt 25/46.
Those whose name will not be in this book will be condemned. It is good to know
that the names which appear in this book have been there before the foundation
of the world. Matt 25/34.Apoc 13/8.
Concerning the Christians who will not have been taken up and who suffer during the great tribulation, and have refused the mark of the beast, they will be guided to the source of Life. This will be, somehow, a possibility fo them to learn and receive all that they wanted to ignore during their life on earth, just before the taking up of the Bride. Rev 7/13-17 see Apocalypse.Antechrist. Babylon.
The
humble Bride of Christ will already have been in the Palace of the Bridegroom
for about 1007 years.
JUDGES. O.T.
It
is a book of the O.T. which talks of the Jews from the death of Joshua to the
birth of the prophet Samuel. The Ch 1 to 3: Not having repelled its
enemies, the people of God has drawn upon itself terrible consequences to face
Jg 1/16-35. Ch 3 to 5 the story of the prophetess Debora and of Barak.
Against the Cananeans. Ch 6 to 8 Gedeon repels the Midianites. Ch
9 to 12 several judges, apostasy and oppression. Ch 13 to 16 the
last judge: Samson. Ch 17 to 21 depth of the sin of the people of God.
JUST.
See
Commandment, Worthy.
To
be just is to be separated from the world, i.e, holy, virtuous, righteous, obedient
and escaping sin.
God blesses the virtuous man Ps 5/12. His eyes are on them Ps 34/16-18. 1 Peter 3/12. March forward those who are hungry and thirsty of justice Matt 5/6. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Matt 6/33.
The
just will have eternal life Matt 25/46. The prayer of the just is highly
efficient Jm 5/16.
But
who is just?
Only
those who are benefitting the perfect work of Jesus-Christ on the cross. They
are forgiven, purified, justified, sanctified by Jesus-Christ who has placed
on their count His own Divine Justice.
He
who imagines not to deal with the justice of God because he believes in the
Lord Jesus-Christ is seriously mistaken.
Il
is true that Jesus-Christ is just and forgives our sins 1 Jn 1/9. But
if after believing, you move back in your faith and thus in your behaviour,
the Bible is clear, you will go through judgment to paye till the last penny
and you will be beaten according to the gravity of your personal case. Lk
12/47. Matt 5/21-26.
Only
by the grace of the Lord Jesus-Christ, are we are part of the justification,
and thus free of the punishment and declared innocent of the sins that we have
committed. But if it is a gift, it is a gift which we must receive. And we receive
it by faith. This means that we believe that Jesus-Christ has made just the
sinner that we were. Faith is always manifested by repentance and obedience
of heart to the law of Jesus-Christ.
Not
those who listen to the law, but those who practice it will be justified
Rm 2/13. We are justified by the blood of the Lord Jesus-Christ. Ro
5/1-2, 9. In the name of the Lord Jesus-Christ 1 Cor 6/11. We are
justified by his grace Tit 3/7. But like for Abraham, it is by our works
and not by our faith only that we are justified Jm 2/14-26.
