FAMILY.

All the families of the earth are blessed in Abraham, provided they bless Abraham and his people. Gn 12/3. 28/14. God is the father (the creator) of any family in heavens and on the earth Eph 3/14-15.

(And yet, He acknowledges His people, Jn 10/3 i.e., those who don't have the devil as their father.) see Adam etc...

Adam has a descent, but he is not the father of all the families. Eve is the mother of all the families. See Eve.

In the family, the parents have the responsibility of the children Gn 18/17-19. Deut 6/7; 11/19. He who loves his son will correct him Pro 13/24; Pro 23/13. The parents should teach the children in the way they must follow Pro 22/6. To enjoy the life with the woman one loves Ecc 9/9. Make your children disciples of God Is 54/13. Bring up your children according to the Lord Eph 6/1-4. If you did not take care of the people of your family, you have rejected the faith 1Tim 5/8. See child. The children should honor their parents Ex 20/12. They must listen to the instructions of their parents Pro 1/8; 13/1; 23/22. Jesus was obedient to his parents Lk 2/51. Jesus was doing the will of his father Jn 6/38. Let the children obey their parents, according to the Lord Eph 6/1. (It is obvious that if the parents order their children to do things contrary to what the Lord says, the children must not give in. On the contrary, they must go and seek the help of an authority above their parents to be protected.) see Respect.

FAST

To abstain from eating with the purpose of coming closer to God. Fasting does not go without prayer. When one fasts, we don't meet God first. We first meet our own physical limitation. We may suffer because of the detoxification of some food eaten before. Then, after the physical encounter, there is the psychological encounter of hunger. This problem can be addressed easily. We can stave off hunger by drinking water. (one to two liters per day). In general, after three days, the headaches are gone and the spiritual fasting can start. Jesus showed the spiritual way of fasting. The first spiritual person we meet is not God, nor an angel of God. It is the temptator. Matt 4/1-11. Actually fasting helps us to weaken the flesh in order to finally be spiritual. It is because the disciples were incredulous that Jesus tells them to fast, in order to repel the incredulity, the demon of incredulity Matt 17/21. In no case do the demons come out because you have fasted! you can repel them when you are faithful, when you have finished with incredulity. It is how you should understand this text of Matt 17/21. At the time of Ezdra Ez 8/21-23, 31, of Nehemiah, Ne 1/4, in the Psalms Ps 35/13. At the time of Isaiah, in order to show us the kind of fast God enjoys Is 58/3-10. Daniel fasting and praying Dan 9/3. At the time of Joel, Joel 2/12. The people of Nineveh Jonah 3/5. Jesus fasted fourty days Matt 4/1-11. Lk 4/1-2. Moses too, without eating or drinking Ex 34/28. Elijah too 1 Kg 19/7-8.

FEAR

When a disciple fears God, he shows respect and veneration by conforming to His perfect laws. Deut 6/13. Phil 2/12. Ecc 8/12.

The unbelievers and the old-fashioned people may fear God in the sense of being afraid. Gn 20/11. Ps 111/10.

We should not fear the people. Gn 26/24. Nb 14/9. 2 Kgs 6/16. Ps 56/5.

The perfect love dispels the fear 1 Jn 4/18.

Jesus was not negating evil or danger, but he did not yield to fear. He always loved. He chose to love. He has been living the love in all circumstances and even when he was on the cross, he continued to love his enemies. His love dispelled all the fears of his life and it is our model. Let us be inspired by Him only.

FEEL.

The sentimental Christians like to feel. They like to feel what they call ''the presence of God''. Without this feeling, they believe that God is not there. Jesus-Christ is not asking us to feel, but to believe that he is always present with us who are his disciples Matt 28/20.

If you don't feel well, you are not forced to be mesmerized by this impression. Through faith, you can raise up your head, your shoulders and go with the strength that God has given you. All is possible for he who believes Mk 9/23, because you cannot be tested beyond your strength 1 Cor 10/13.

To feel the presence of God is a fable. To feel the anointment likewise. Once again, we are not called to feel, but to act according to the Word of God. God has created us with possibilities of emotions. Some people may be more sensitive than others. But the experiences of the sensitive people can in no case become doctrines.

FIELDS.

The field symbolizes the world Matt 13/38. The Kingdom of Heaven is compared to a treasure which has been hidden in a field Matt 13/44. Whoever finds the treasure should sell all his belongings in order to get the field where the treasure is. The field here represents the Community of the Lord Jesus-Christ in which the (priceless) treasure is. This means the eternal life which cannot be bought.

Meanwhile, the man bought something; he bought the field in order to have what was in the field. Therefore, in the primitive Church, a true disciple of Jesus-Christ had to:

Repent

Be baptised (immersed) in the name of the Lord Jesus-Christ for the forgiveness of sins.

Receive the Holy-Spirit.

Renounce the life of the perverse generation in which we had been living so far and live in Community to live the life style willed by Jesus-Christ. Acts 2/38-46; Lk 14/33; Ps 133, Acts 4/32/37. See Communion

Peter also opened the gate to the non-Jews. It was in the house of Cornelius. See Cornelius

These four points are the keys which Peter received from Jesus-Christ Matt 16/19 and which he used to make the first disciples enter the newborn Church. Acts 2/38 - 47. See Keys.

FIRE.

The fire often symbolizes purification, sanctification. The fire can also be the presence of God.

God is a consuming fire Deut 4/24. The servants of God are flames of fire Ps 104/4. The Eternal visits with the flame of a consuming fire Is 29/6. God comes in a fire Is 66/15. He will be as a refiner's fire Mal 3/2. Jesus is baptising with fire Matt 3/11.

FLESH. See carnal, soul.

The flesh is first what makes up the body of people, animals, fish and birds. The flesh is also the mortal soul. It is our mortal nature.

The body is mortal and so is our soul. See soul and see body.

Before the law of Moses, see Bible, all the animals could be food for us. It is their flesh that we have the right to eat Gn 9/3. Simply, it was forbidden to kill the animals if one did not want to eat them. Gn 9/10-11

In our mortal state, we are sons and daughter of God if we have been chosen in our pre-mortal past Eph 1/4. In this mortal state, we are carnal or spiritual. We should give up the flesh and be conducted by the Spirit of God. Rm 6. See Spirit. (To give up the flesh does not mean to stop eating meat.)

Crucify the flesh with its passions and desires. Gal 5/24-25. The doings of the flesh are obvious Gal 6/19-21. Cursed is the strong man who relies on the frail man (The flesh) Jer 17/5. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak Marc 14/38. The lust of the flesh does not come from God 1Jn 2/16.

FLOOD. OT

See Noah, rainbow. In Noah's time, the earth was covered with water. The earth was thus baptised. 1 Peter 3/20-21.

The flood was announced in Gn 6/17. The waters covering the earth. Gn 7/10. The rainbow placed by God. Gn 9/9-17.

FORBIDDEN FRUIT.

See fall of Adam, Eden.

FOREORDINATION

Ordination: action to put in order, consecration.

Ordain: put in rank, in order. Consecrate by ordination

God ordains us in the premortal life. He ordains the nations, setting their limits Deut 32/8. He appoints the prophets Jer 1/5. He has allotted periods of time and the ages Acts 17/26. He foreordains those whom he has known in avance Rm 8/28-30. God has chosen us, consecrated us before the foundation of the world Eph 1/3-4. Jesus-christ has been foreordained to be the Redeemer 1 Pt 1/19-20.

FORGIVE.

God forgives our sins and cancels the punishment which sin deserved, this means death. The soul which sins, will die Ez 18/4. It is because Jesus-Christ has shed his Precious blood on the cross that the forgiveness of our sins is possible to all those who repent.

Those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit have no feeling of guilt at all and this is why they cannot be forgiven see Blasphemy. Please understand that if you have a feeling of guilt, It means you have not sinned against the Holy Spirit. You are accused by the devil. He lies to you, telling you that you have blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. Be free of this obsession right now, in the name of the Lord Jesus-Christ! if you have grieved the Holy Spirit, you can feel sorrow in your heart. But again, it has nothing to do with the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Simply confess what you have done to the Lord who is always faithful so that He forgives and purifies you. Always remember this: whoever has blasphemed against the Holy Spirit feels no grief or anxiety.

When we forgive, we show that we are disciples of Jesus-Christ and that we don't keep evil thoughts against those who caused wrong to us. Matt 5/43-45. Matt 6/12-15.

The disciples Lk 14/3 have the power to forgive the sins Jn 20/23. The washing of the feet is the symbol of the forgiveness which we bring to one another in the name of the Lord Jesus-Chrit. The washing of the feet must be practiced so that we can be completely pure. Jn 13/10. You should wash one another's feet Jn 13/ 14. You cannot be happy if you don't practice the washing of the feet Jn 13/17. See Wash. Ordinances. Happy. It is strange that Christians, in general, take the Lord's Supper as the symbol of the communion, and have almost no real communion with their brothers and sisters. And they almost never confess their sins to one another and never practice the washing of the feet which is the symbol of this forgiveness given in the name of the Lord Jesus-Christ...
