BAPTISM

Word meaning 'to plunge', 'to immerge'. A believer who wants to enter the Community of the Lord Jesus-Christ (who has been immerged in the Body of Christ by the Holy-Spirit), must be baptised in the water in the name of the Lord Jesus-Christ according to Acts 2/38. The baptism  is always preceded by the faith in Jesus-Christ and the repentance. See Wash.

The 'baptism' of newborn infants is useless. It is not a baptism (an immersion), only an aspersion. We cannot immerse with a few drops of water and furthermore, a child cannot commit to follow Jesus-Christ in his Community. (Some adults don't manage either and draw back as soon as they meet the first difficulty (Matt 13/18-23.) But they are responsible of their commitments and withdrawals, whereas a child cannot be.) 1Peter 3/21.

The 'baptism' of children is a heresy invented by the Roman religion.

BAPTIST. See Elijah, Elisha, John,witness

BARABAS.

The man whom Pilate set free instead of Jesus-Christ. He was a murderer and rebel. Matt 27/16; Mk 15/6-15. Lk 23/18-25; Jn 18/40.

BARTHOLOMEW.

One of the twelve Apostles of Jesus-Christ Matt 10/2-4.

BATH-SCHEBA.

Wife of Uriah, then wife of David and mother of Solomon. David committed adultery with her. He had her husband killed 2Sam 11. This sin still has consequences today.

BEGET.

This is the reproduction through generation, or procreation. Jesus was the first born of all creation Col 1/15-16. Then Jesus-Christ was presented again in the world, in the flesh Heb 1/5-6. See Fall of Adam and Eve

Now all the children of God born in the mortal flesh should be generated by God spiritually. It is what Jesus calls the New Birth. Jn 3/3. Eve was not engendered in a mortal flesh. It was a different dispensation. See dispensation, Eve.

Jesus has been engendered a mortal Ps 2/7. Heb 5/5. Acts 13/32-33.

We must clearly understand: Jesus was begotten a first time Heb 1/5 when God created the Logos, the Word. Col 1/15-16. Jn 1/1.

Then, Jesus was introduced in the world. It was something new Heb 1/6. Jn 1/14. By becoming the Word made flesh. See Lamb of GodAdvocate. Good Sheperd. Flesh. Adam. Etc...

BEGINNING. See fall of adam and Eve.

Most of the time, this word means the starting point of the created system.

Jesus-Christ is the Word who was created first.

He is thus the Beginning.

Before the beginning, He was in the Absolute, i.e. out of this space-time system. Our spirit was there too, in Him. See soul.

When God created us, He blew a breath of life in the nostrils of man formed with the dust of the earth. Gn 2/7. This breath of life is our spirit. We are, all of us, incarnated spirits. It is this part of the Divine which is in us. It is this immortal part which is in us.

The beginning is reported in Jn 1/1. Col 1/15-16. Rev 1/8. Rev 1/18 and Gn 1/1.

(We should note that Jesus-Christ presents himself in the book of Revelation as 'The Lord God' and I remind you that there is only one Lord God).

What follows in Gn 1/1 is not the story of the creation of the world, but the story of the restoration of the world in six days of 24 hours.

Between Gn 1/1 and Gn 2/2, thousands of years took place about which we are ignorant. But it did take place.

To deny it would be to offend the intellect.

BELIEVE.

See trust, faith.

To believe means to confide. Thus, those who believe in God confide in Him and His prophets. 2 Chron 20/20. To confide is to believe in God gives you firmness; you know that He is with you Matt 28/20 if you are his disciple. You are firm and peaceful. But to be succesful, you should confide in His prophets.

(A true disciple will live 2 Chron 20/20 with joy till the end, the others will be servile and will not remain faithful to their commitment toward the Church of Jesus-Christ. Any commandment can be perverted, and especially the one in 2 Chron 20/20 more than any other because of the complexity of the heart of man Jer 17/9-10. But 2 Chron 20/20 is nevertheless an order established by God.)

On the other hand, it is true that some dishonest people use 2 Chron 20/20 to dominate people; see Nicolaism But the existence of false prophets offers no ground to reject all the prophets. If there are false prophets, there are also true prophets. 2 Jn 7. If you confide in God, living as a disciple, you will not be seduced by a false prophet. It is a guarantee offered by God Mk 13/22. See prophet

Let it be done according to your faith (belief) Matt 8/13. Do not be afraid, only have faith Mk 5/36. Everything is possible for anyone who has faith Mk 9/23-24. He who believes and is baptised will be saved Mk 16/16. Whoever believes will have eternal life Jn/3/16-18. See life. The chosen ones believe and know that Jesus is the Messiah Jn 6/69. He who believes in Jesus-Christ will live though he may die Jn 11/25-26. Those who believe in Jesus-Christ have entered the true Sabbath Heb 4/ see commandement, Sabbat. To believe in the name of the son Jesus Christ entails loving one another 1 Jn 3/23.

BELSHAZZAR.

He is the son of Nebuchadnezzar. Dan 5/1-2.

He was the last king of Babylon before the invasion of Cyrus.

BENJAMIN. OT

It is the second son of Jacob and Rachel. Gn 35/16-20. His father blessed his offspring Gn 49/27. Saul is from Benjamin 1 Sam 9/1-2. Paul is also from Benjamin Rm 11/1; Phil 3/5. The apocryphal book Testament of the twelve patriarchs 'Testament of Benjamin' 11/1-5. Refers to Apostle Paul.

''I shall not be called any more 'Greedy wolf' because of your plunderings, but 'worker of the Lord', distributing the food for those who work to do good. From my offspring will come out, in the last days, the beloved of the Lord, heeding his voice, acting according to his will, illuminating with a new Doctrine all the nations. Light of Knowledge, He will trample down on Israel, like a wolf he will elicit everything from her to give it to the synagogue of the nations. Until the completion of times, He will be in the synagogues of nations and among their chiefs like a song in the mouth of all. He will expound in the Holy books his work and his Message, and He will be the Elect of God forever. Thanks to him, Jacob my father, taught me the following: He is the one who will fill up the gaps of your tribe.''

BETHLEHEM.

A town, about 5 miles from Jerusalem. The word means ''House of the bread''. Bethlehem is also called Ephrata, meaning 'fruitful'. Jesus-Christ was born there, according to the prophet Micah 5/1. Matt 2/1-8. It is also the place where Rachel was buried. Gn 35/19; 48//7.
